Dr. Percy Thomas began his acting career at the Arena Playhouse in Baltimore, Maryland
in Ed Bullin's Clara's Ole Man. He is the founder of the Free Spirit Theater and the
Percy Thomas Acting Studio. He has more than twenty years of experience in theater,
commercial television and film. Dr. Thomas has appeared in more that 40 productions.
He has played lead roles or principle characters in the following plays: In the Wine Time,
In New England Winter, Electronic Nigger, Wait Until Dark, Slow Dance on the killing Ground,
No Place to be Somebody, First Breeze of Summer, None to Call Him
Father and Blues for Mr. Charlie (off Broadway). During a three-year stint in
California, he trained under Roger E. Mosely at the historic Mufundi Institute and
performed in a film with Louis Gossett, Jr., James Earl Jones, Roger E. Mosely, Glenn
Turman and many other professional actors. Dr. Thomas has a keen creative spirit that has
led him to pursue community theater, where he has explored nearly all aspects of the
performing arts field from playwright, actor, and director.
